This is a short play I wrote, based on a story by Sri Chinmoy , called The Seeker-Writer . It’sa humorous story with a spiritual lesson behind it. Once there was a seeker who’d developed much sincerity. Depois, houve uma procura que tinha desenvolvido muito sinceridade.

His first book was a comprehensive study of zoology, Seu primeiro livro foi um exaustivo estudo de zoologia,

His third one was his favourite: it was autobiographical, Seu terceiro um era o seu favorito: era autobiográfica,

Animals, humans, self and God: each subject he’d applauded. Os animais, seres humanos, a auto e Deus: cada sujeito ele aplaudido.

To think I hoped to be like him! Para pensar que eu esperava para ser como ele! Well I don’t like His attitude! Bem eu não gosto Sua atitude!
I hoped at least my Heavenly Father could say something nice, Eu esperava pelo menos o meu Pai Celestial pudesse dizer algo agradável,
But in Him instead I found a heart as hard as ice. Mas, em vez d'Ele eu encontrei um coração tão duro como gelo.
I found only disappointment in so-called superiors, Achei que só decepção nas chamadas superiores,

With your deft skills and courage all lions you’d defeat! Com sua hábil competências e coragem todos os leões que você derrota!

At last someone has felt my love, my efforts were worthwhile! Até que enfim alguém se sentiu meu amor, os meus esforços foram válidos!
So much more one ring is worth than just one measly smile! Portanto, é muito mais um anel no valor de apenas um sorriso com sarampo!
With pride and joy abundant now I’ll carry on my quest! Com orgulho e alegria abundante agora vou continuar a minha busca!
One realm adores me, now I’ll seek the praises of the rest. Um reino adora-me, agora eu vou procurar os louvores do resto.
If the tiger loves, then let the dumb lion abhor me. Se o tigre ama, então deixe o mudo leão detestar-me.
If not the king, then let his minister adore me. Se não for o rei, então seu ministro adoram-me.
[Exits, and re-enters a palace scene. [Sai, e volta a entrar um palácio cena. Enter minister.] Entra ministro.]
Minister, do you see you are much greater than the king? Ministro, você vê que são muito maiores do que o rei?
Your humility is greatness, I am not just flattering! Sua humildade é grandeza, não estou apenas lisonjeiro!
Your selfless life in service to your country will pay off, Sua abnegada vida em serviço para o seu país irá pagar,
Every pauper, every lord to you their cap will doff. Cada pauper, cada lorde a você vai tirar sua tampa.
With your virtues, wait and see, in time you’ll take the throne; Com tuas virtudes, esperar e ver, com o tempo você vai assumir o trono;
All the riches of this realm are sure to be your own! Todas as riquezas do reino a certeza de ser o seu próprio!
You do all the work, and still the king gets all the glory, Você faz todo o trabalho, e ainda o rei recebe toda a glória,
But wait and see, in time it’s sure to be a different story. Mas esperar e ver, em tempo, com certeza é uma história diferente.

A thousand rupees! Um mil rupias! I was right, and here’s the proof! Eu estava bem, e aqui está a prova!
The so-called highest do not know and do not care for truth. A chamada mais elevada não sabem e não se importam de verdade.
Those below them really see the wisdom of my mind. Estas infra-las realmente ver a sabedoria da minha mente.
In spiritual height I see they leave superiors behind. Na altura espiritual vejo superiores que deixam para trás.

They say the soul’s the highest, strongest, deepest, most refined, Dizem que a alma é o mais alto, mais forte, mais profundo, mais refinados,
But where is that fickle rogue? Mas onde é que inconstante desonestos? You’re here for all to see. Você está aqui para que todos possam ver.
Your love so steady offers shelter like a generous tree. Seu amor tão firme como refúgio oferece uma generosa árvore.
Even doctors know you, and I feel you with each breath. Mesmo médicos saibam que você, e eu sinto-lo com cada respiração.
When you stop, I cannot live, and follow you to death. Quando você parar, eu não posso viver, e segui-lo à morte.

How can I ever match the divine beauty of the soul? Como eu posso corresponder a divina beleza da alma?
I am simple as a child, and earthly is my role, Sou simples como uma criança, e terrena é o meu papel,

I spent my life in serving Him with each breath of mine. Passei a minha vida em servir-lo com cada respiração da mina.
‘It is all right,’ He said! 'Está tudo bem ", disse ele! How very cold and undivine! Como muito frio e undivine!
God does nothing well! Deus não faz nada bem! I made of Him a lovely fuss, Fiz dele um lindo barulho,
And did He even thank me? E que Ele mesmo me agradecer? How can the world be thus? Como pode o mundo ser assim?

I think He has grown old, and is no longer speaking sense. Acho que ele tem crescido de idade, e já não está falando sentido.
Your beauty and your wisdom are remarkably superior. Sua beleza e sua sabedoria são notavelmente superior.

You tried to seek the highest, but you left the truth behind. Tentou procurar o mais elevado, mas a verdade é deixada para trás.
God sent me to you, and with some exasperation. Deus me enviou para você, e com alguma irritação.
When the lion roared it was with joy and inspiration! Quando o leão roared foi com alegria e inspiração!
Your love brought him new courage so he spoke his mighty thunder. Seu amor trouxe novas coragem para que ele falou seu poderoso trovão.
It was his way of thanking you, and showing you he’d heard. Era a sua maneira de agradecer a você, e mostrando-lhe que ele deseja ouvir.
What did you think, he’d dance a jig? O que você acha, ele dança uma rapaziada? Or twitter like a bird? Ou twister como um pássaro?
What of the king? Quais do rei? You think he likes verbose appreciation? Você acha que ele gosta de verbosos apreciação?
He thanked you, and you felt such vehement indignation? Ele agradeceu a você, e você se sentiu tão veemente indignação?
He hears praise from many who are greater, more refined, Ele ouve elogios de muitos que são maiores, mais refinados,
Less long-winded than you are. Menos de longo fôlego que você. To thank you was most kind! Para agradecer foi mais tipo!
You were lucky that he let you ramble on at will. Tiveste sorte que ele deixe você divagar sobre a sua vontade.
From him a nod is praise indeed. Da-lhe um louvor cabeceamento é verdade. A ‘Thank you’, greater still! Um "Obrigado", ainda maior!
And from your soul you think a smile is such a common thing? E a partir de sua alma que você acha que um sorriso é tão comum uma coisa?
Did you hope to see it jump for joy or start to sing? Você esperança de vê-lo saltar de alegria ou começar a cantar?
Your soul is God on earth, and its smile is His Divinity! Sua alma é Deus na terra, e seu sorriso é sua divindade!
To know that you have pleased your soul is to receive Infinity! Para saber se tem prazer em receber sua alma é infinito!
Talking of God, there is one more thing I have to say. Falar de Deus, aí está mais uma coisa que tenho a dizer.
‘It is all right’ means that you are right in every way! "É tudo bem" significa que você tem razão em todos os sentidos!
God told you to your face your words were all perfection. Deus disse-lhe seu rosto suas palavras foram todos perfeição.
You became disgusted, but you missed His true Inflection! Você ficou aborrecido, mas você perdeu seu verdadeiro Inflection!
For God to give such praise means all your words are ratified! Para Deus a dar tais elogios, todos os seus termos sejam ratificados!
Much more than you deserved, but still you were dissatisfied! Muito mais do que merecia, mas ainda assim você não ficou satisfeito!
Only a fool would choose self-pity over glory. Só um idiota iria escolher auto-piedade mais glória.
Your call, your life, your progress, end of story. A sua chamada, sua vida, seu progresso, fim da história.
The highest are the highest, but those who won’t believe Os maiores são os mais elevados, mas aquelas que não vão acreditar
Are missing out on blessings they could easily receive. Estão faltando as bênçãos sobre eles poderiam facilmente receber.
If we are earnest, pure in faith, and true unto the soul Se estamos a sério, puro, na fé, e verdade vos a alma
We may let the greatest lead us to the highest Goal. Nós podemos deixar que nos levam a maior para o mais alto da meta.

Interesting reading, don’t believe I’ve ready a play done in rhyming verse. Interessante leitura, não acredito que eu tenho pronto um jogo feito em verso rimado. Not sure about all the content but the writing is very good. Não tem certeza sobre todos os conteúdos, mas a escrita é muito boa.
