Real Life Juggling

Juggling photograph by Pavitrata Taylor

The serendipitous Pavitrata Taylor is one of my favourite photographers, so I thought I’d show you some of his art. This is called “A Job Of Work”

I could go on, but I know nothing of photography other than my immense enjoyment of it…

There is a little slideshow on my homepage if you want to see more, or you can see even more at The Sri Chinmoy Centre Gallery.

I’m including this one because I’ve just bought a flat that needs renovating, and I feel like this chap in the photo juggling various tasks and aspects of life… hence my relative quietude…

(choose bath taps)… (pick up tiles)… (cup of tea)… (book the joiner)… (walk the dog)… (eat?)… (buy food)… (eat)… (more tea)… (carpet grippers)… (ouch)… (buy plasters)… (breathe in)… (breathe out)… (meditate)… … … (work? maybe)… (sleep? yes)… (meditate)… (start again)…

(Actually it’s not just me juggling at all; lots of very nice people keep turning up at the right moment to lend a hand. It seems serendipity extends to home improvements)…

Sumangali
(dog-tired, scruffier than usual, very happy, extremely grateful)

(reading)… (breathe shortening)… (pulse rate rising).. (head hurting just thinking about it)..!

I’ve shifted twice in the last year or so, and I literally can’t count how many in the past ten years, and both enjoy the change of location and dread the extracurricular vocation moving entails. I’ve also learnt the hard way not to move in immediately after applying cleaning products liberally (cough, cough)…

Yes, I’m due a move myself over the next couple of months, and inwardly wince when I think of all the extra hassle it will involve. One good thing though: It’s a prime opportunity to throw away/donate all the unessential clutter
you’ve accumulated during your stay and start out again with just a couple of boxes at your feet.

Btw, looking at your freshly redesigned site stirs a hankering in me to perform some serious plastic surgery on my own…

Yes, Shane, clutter clearing makes everything easier. 2 other things I’ve relearned about moving in the past week: 1) The price of an electric sander can never be too high. (I seem to have lost my old one during the clutter-clearing!) 2) If you’re right-handed, don’t hit the hammer with your left hand. Ever. As for site renovation, if only it were so simple. Good luck with both :-)
