Great story, thanks for the link Alf. If I have 3000 volunteers taking care of me when I'm 108 years old, I'll be very happy :-)

Thanks Alf. Yes, I remember seeing a photo of Sri Chinmoy in the front of a steam train, but I didn't know the country or the story behind it. So it is Australia. Do tell more if you know.

There's a great photo somewhere from the 1980's of Sri Chinmoy in the driver's cabin of Puffing Billy where he got to fulfill his childhood dream of being a train driver. While he was driving a bunch of his students were taking part in the annual running race against the train.

John: Gosh! All aboard! That's the spirit. Thank you kindly. Yes lists of lists are all very well, but I'll save them for the supermarket. Adventures are more... adventuresome.

Liara: Indeed we would do well not to take anything for granted, but maybe we would do equally well not to take everything too seriously either. I cling to an old-fashioned notion that journeys can be fun too. :-)

I love the sense of freedom I have experienced while riding on trains. Visions of experiencing other railway lines is great fuel for my ever-expanding imagination.

The story you mention reminds us how fragile our world is. Clearly, we have much to learn about the physical. We would also do well in evolving not to take anything about this life and our sense of self-exploration for granted.

Congratulations and three toots! Real writing again; ne’er a list in sight, or on site!

So vivid and poetic I am almost there, or am I getting “carriage’d” away?

Welcome back on the writing horse—or is that a train...
